Growing North East based business, Solarglide, has appointed Cliff Sainsbury, as Marketing Coordinator, who brings a wealth of experience from multiple industries.
Cliff has a unique perspective on the marketing landscape and will help Solarglide thrive throughout 2022 and beyond.
As an industry leader in marine blinds and window coverings based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, Solarglide was looking for someone to help them grow and adapt in an ever changing marketing environment – with Cliff’s experience, drive and innovation, appointing him was a no brainer.
Who is Cliff Sainsbury?
From Heaton in Newcastle upon Tyne, Cliff attended Newcastle College studying Fine Art and Graphic Design. Having shown a passion for creative design he then decided to enrol at Northumbria University to study Media and Communications.
A notable achievement for Cliff while studying, was a short documentary film that Cliff created which ultimately won him the Mike Figgis Award for Innovation. Cliff proudly graduated with a First Class Honours degree.
Showing a passion for entrepreneurship, in his final year of university Cliff started his own marketing company called Peep Magazine which focused on photography and alternative journalism.
Through Peep Magazine, Cliff was able to work with some amazing brands such as Playboy Magazine, Food and Drink magazine, the Theatre Royal and Starpro Sports. Cliff’s hard work paid off when he was awarded the Magazine of the Year in the North of England for 2020/2021.
While juggling Peep Magazine, Cliff worked at Viper Helmets in Killingworth and then travelled the world with Saga Cruise, giving him the opportunity to learn different marketing techniques. However, Cliff returned to the North East and when a position became available at Solarglide, he jumped at the opportunity to bring his innovative ideas and fresh perspective to the maritime industry.
