In most companies there is usually an individual or a small group of people that are the designated first aiders. But what happens if this person/ or these people are out of office when an emergency occurs? What happens if these first aiders have not been trained recently and have forgotten some of the crucial skills gained from past courses? Whilst a half day or full day course offers basic first aid training, they don’t always offer all the skills needed to make an impact. ITC level 3 first aid training is a 3-day intensive course that builds essential knowledge and gives trainees the skills needed to perform effective first aid and potentially save a person’s life.

Solarglide took the collective decision to enrol the full team for ITC Level 3 First Aid Trained due to the high-risk nature of the maritime industry. We selected training provider ‘Life Saving Training’ Northeast, based on reviews and reputation. In November, refresher training was given to all team members that had previously completed the level 3 qualification, and those team members not trained carried out the three-day qualification. Solarglide are now proud to announce that all employees are ITC Level 3 First Aid Trained. Why is this important? It’s important because everyone in the Solarglide team can now act to save a life without fear or hesitation.

Life Saving Training Help Save Lives

The course allows each person that undergoes the training, to gain the confidence (and knowledge) to act if an incident occurs in the workplace, at home or when out in public. If someone has a cardiac arrest, every minute that passes decreases the chances of survival if nobody acts. If people are confused and simply stand by and watch, without acting, the injured person may pass away before the ambulance arrives. Someone that is level 3 qualified has the skills needed to keep that person alive until the ambulance arrives giving them a much better chance of survival.

This specialist First Aid at Work course prepares First Aiders to go beyond Emergency First Aid to manage a wide range of injuries and illnesses. The course also fully complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is consistent with ERC 2021ILCOR2021/UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
