Seawork | Commercial Marine Exhibition | Mayflower Park | Southampton
Solarglide are always looking for the next opportunity to attend a prestigious event or to display our unique products within the maritime industry. Last month, we showcased at the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo ( CSI ) Miami show and thought it was only right to attend this years SeaWork International Exhibition and Conference.
If you would like to cut right to the chase and check it out for yourself WATCH this our Seawork Exhibition Vlog 3
Ok, what is Seawork ? Seawork is a “One Stop Shop” for buyers providing access to the commercial marine and workboat markets. Seawork, is the largest European Commercial Marine Exhibition held at the Mayflower Park venue in Southampton. Myself and managing director Paul Pringle travelled for the 23rd Seawork commercial marine exhibition. The three day show seemed like a complete ‘Sell out’ an the weather could only be described as ‘boiling’
With a rich maritime history, Southampton is considered the perfect location for a maritime exhibition. There is a selection of cruise liners and red funnel ferries at the port providing the perfect backdrop to the exhibition. Also exhibiting at Seawork, were workboats, patrol boats, ribs, crew transfer vessels and boats used in offshore wind projects. The show has 18,000m² of undercover space in purpose-built exhibition halls, more than 70 vessels and floating exhibits available for demonstrations on the water, a quayside for large exhibits and outdoor demonstrations and excellent conference and meeting facilities.
Exhibitions Throughout The Entire Show
The first demonstration that caught our eye was from the company James Fisher, who exhibited a large shipping container full of equipment that was submerged in water. We stopped by and spoke with all of the divers from MMC Diving Services, which were demonstrating under water testing on various appliances within the shipping Container.
Live Music
Another highlight of the day was live music playing a selection of tracks including the Bob Marley classic – ‘Don’t Worry About A Thing’ . To be honest, we didn’t get many images of the Regatta Cardboard Boat Race , however we did catch some of the best bits on our video, highlighted in the above link.
Solarglide Shall Return
Paul Pringle described the event as a ” hugely successful event” and went on to say – “ It was great to meet with our partners, existing clients and to see our friends in the media”. Myself and Paul we were also able to get onboard most of the boats at the show, the quality of the builds and interiors were extremely impressive. We also captured some exciting and engaging photography and video content which again, is in the above link.
We believe the Seawork Commercial Marine Exhibition is a very important show for the industry and we expect it to grow year on year. It brings thousands of pounds for the local economy and attracts people from all over the world to the UK. We hope to be there again next year with more exciting news. If you see us there in 2023, come and say hello and who knows, you may well be featuring in our Solarglide VLog series !
