Svitzer Tugboats ensure the safety of big ships while they are entering, manoeuvring, mooring, and unmooring in harbours and ports. They are hugely important during port operations and help to prevent incidents and collisions from occurring. Like all sea going vessels, navigation and clear visibility is essential in providing a service to those ships that rely on them
Solarglide works with many tugboat operators and were recently commissioned by Svitzer Tugboats to install new cassetted solar screens onboard two of their tugboats stationed in Gravesend, southern England. In addition, we were asked to replace obsolete privacy blinds for the roof windows onboard the vessels MV Svitzer London and MV Svitzer Thames. These sister tugs work along the Thames river, an area known for heavy marine traffic. The port of Gravesend welcomes lots of ships daily including cargo ships, leisure crafts and passenger ships. Safety is therefore paramount.
On this occasion we provided a survey, manufacture and install package. We have worked with many Svitzer UK offices including Hull, Teesside, Liverpool, and Felixstowe. Other tugboats that have Solarglide products onboard include Vidar, Madeleine, Bootle, Brunell and Monarch.
