Marine Dimout Screens

IMO MED Approved Privacy Blinds for Ships, Ferries and Cruiseliners

Whether you’re looking to shield passengers and crew from the sun or create a controlled lighting environment for your vessel, Solarglide IMO MED Approved semi-transparent marine dimout blinds are a great solution.

Unlike blackout screens, marine dimout screens are slightly transparent in nature, giving some visibility to the outside world whilst allowing moderate levels of light transmission indoors too. They also reduce heat and block out dangerous UV radiation which is the main cause of premature fading of interior furnishings. In hot climates they keep public and crew spaces cool by reflecting away unwanted glare and heat, and in warmer conditions they help retain the heat inside the interior space. Both scenarios have a positive impact on the vessels (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) HVAC costs.

Designed for offshore usage, Solarglide offer three unique moisture resistant/flame retardant (BS5867, Part 2: Type B 2008)’ fabric choices, which can be viewed below in the ‘Colour Collections’ section. IMO FR ROE dimout fabric is a PVC & polyester based material (with 3% openness) IMO FR CARNIVAL is a sustainable dimout fabric made from recycled polyester yarns. Furthermore, Solarglide offer a single range of MED fabric colours for Cruise & Ferry projects that seek a greater level of compliance Everything you need to know about our Marine Dimout Blinds
